Teaching techniques to beginners is an important and challenging endeavor. Improper or vague fundamental technique instruction can cause students to develop ineffective habits. These habits influence not only their future performance but also their physical health. This dissertation provides the guitarist with information that assists in choosing appropriate methods for students by analyzing similarities and differences in order to determine the purpose and eventual outcomes of each method. By comparing the content of each method, one gains a thorough understanding of the strengths of each method.
