The written record of music (the score) has an extremely important role in the development of music in its various forms of action in society, with the editor being the professional responsible for preparing the musical text to be published, to be made available to society, they are the bridge between the composer and the reader. This treatise aims the development of a guide to the guitarist editor based on the practices and standards of the philology area. Philology is the area of science that deals with the study of text, from its origin to its impact on society, the preparation of texts is one of the branches of philology, our objective is to adapt philological editing methods to the music area, comparing and taking advantage of the methods already used by music editors.
